Why cant they leave the older buildings as they are and put them to other uses, that's where the heart of the community is .

From my understanding, there are no plans as of yet for the site. It is currently for sale but not sold. The plans for the site therefore have not been planned so is too early to say.

The Town Clerk is on the group that is promoting the Visitor Centre isn't he. It would be nice if he could give updates here so that we could all see them and ask questions about them. It should be public knowledge. Has anyone seen any advertisments advertising Elizabeth Hall? Did any one see any advertisements for EDDC land sold at Pound Way? Peculiar!

This has been ongoing for a number of years - there was a similar forum on here some long time ago (maybe it's still around somewhere?). I (possibly under a different user name - can't remember!) posted a number of comments about it, basically saying that (like the ASDA intention) EDDC refuse to listen to the voice of the people. A petition was raised to save the Hall - but ignored. EDDC state that Elizabeth Hall is not making money - perhaps if they were to market it in a professional manner it would make money. It is currently left empty for long periods of time. There was a private volunteer to take it on, on behalf of EDDC, and manage it - this was turned down. If it goes (and the apparent intention is to sell it to a developer, to become flats) where will the car-boot sales go, the art exhibitions, the fair, etc. etc. During the summer it could be a goldmine - bingo, tea dances, etc., and encourage people to the seafront of an evening. Why is the car park not used, to put money in the coffers? If it goes, it is wondered when the old life-boat station will go (after the new one is built - in a totally inappropriate place, but that's a separate subject!), and what will happen to the library when we get a new one - sold to a developer? Seems to be 'If it's old, get rid of it'. All the retired folk in Exmouth should take care!!
