Wife and I were walking down Salisbury Road yesterday evening -a group of young kids (aged 8 - 12'ish) kicking a ball around and shouting - with numerous F'words. I shouted at them 'Watch your language', expecting to get a mouthful - but they stopped (probably until we were out of earshot). Foul language is common-place in this country now - I believe (although parents play a great part), that TV and films are to blame. It is said that films, etc., reflect reality - but I think it is the other way around and that kids emulate what they see as a way of demonstrating how cool they are. Shame the police (if any are around) can't use policing methods of old, i.e. a clip around the ear. Parents aren't even allowed to smack anymore!
