On location at around 7:30pm, 11 July 2008, beside the mud flats at the mouth of the River Exe, the coach and lorry park was taken over by a whole array of emergency vehicals as a rescue had to be organised. Stuck in the mud flats about 100m to the edge of the river, stood yet another victim of the mud awaiting rescue. Attending were the Fire, Police, Ambulance and HM Coast Guard services. On arival to the scene we saw the brave rescue teams kitting up ready to head out towards the man. Specialist equipment was also being used to make the dangerous trip. This is the second such case in the space of a month that a man has become stuck in this dangerous area and we would like to personally issue a warning to all those wishing to head out to the Estuary mud flats to take extreme care and also a big well done to the emergency services for the fast response.
