We all know that the seafront is a major draw for tourists and there are plans for redevelopment. The plans can be found in full here. The main part of the development is about to begin with the regenteration of the old swimming pool complex. This has been out of action for a number of years and the news that the works are about to begin must be good news. The Old Outdoor Pool DevelopmentThe pool was was built back in 1931and for many years pulled a large crowd. The pool was home to a great crowd which included Exmouth water polo team. The pool held a massive water Garla every Saturday during the summer months and attracted a huge number of spectators that packed and lined the outside of the pool. The pool was part of Exmouth's Golden Era and was very symbolic when it was shut. The old pool site is now set to transform itself into a new attraction with Bowling alley, leisure areas restaurent and cafe areas. |
