Fire - Bargains Galore in Exmouth

Bargains Galore Fire in ExmouthToday (28 January 2010) saw a serious blaze in Exmouth Town Centre. The fire started at about 13:15 and by 13:30, the area as far up as the Wine of Araby and Urban Republic was evacuated due to the toxic smoke with police lines stopping access to the area for public safety. It was about 16:00 that the smoke had started to clear and people were alowed to re-enter the Magnolia Centre as far as the British Heart Foundation. The immediate area still remains closed at present.

The fire caused a great deal of disruption in the town with traffic being diverted around smaller side streets to avoid the risk to safety by the smoke that filled the air. The cause of the fire is, as of yet, still unknown.
