25 May Tasty treats in store on Exmouth seafront
A true taste of the south-west will be the order of the day for visitors to Exmouth this summer.
A brand new food village, run by Taste of the West, has opened on the resort’s sea front, as
part of the new Queen’s Drive Space.
The food village is part of a temporary attraction, which will also include a new Jurassic-themed
play area, an outdoor cinema and events space, and a bar.
The food village will feature a varied and colourful rotation of stallholders, offering ‘food to go’
and gifts, from the very best producers from across the south west.
John Sheaves, Chief Executive of Taste of the West, said: ‘At Taste of the West, one of our
aims is to provide the region’s residents and visitors with great food and drink, as well as
increasing their awareness of where that food comes from.
‘We are so lucky to have some of the best food producers in the country here, and our food
village in Exmouth provides us with a great opportunity to show them off to potential customers
Oddfellows will be providing a bar on site for the season, and the performance aspect comes
courtesy of an open air big screen, which will show cinema films and live stream shows from the
Royal Opera House, beginning on Tuesday, June 12 with an evening performance of Swan
Lake live from London. A stage has also been built for this area, allowing for performances
throughout the summer.
