Summer or winter, you will always find Exmouth buzzing with those rowing, yachting, sailing, kite surfing, paddle boarding, jet skiing, windsurfing, kayaking and even swimming! Exmouth really has a fast growing reputation within the watersports community.
Exmouth is situated on a peninsular, with 2 miles of sandy beach forming one half of the coastline and the River Exe Estuary the other. All of this means that no matter the wind direction, there is always somewhere to kite surf, windsurf etc.
Being nestled with Lyme Bay also means we are sheltered from “extreme waves” so not ideal for surfers, but the flatter conditions make it perfect for everyone else.
The combination of climate and geology has meant that Exmouth is home not 1, not 2 but several world and Olympic champions within the specialists sports.
National Lifesaving championships.
